Transition

Transition area opens on at 5:30 AM on race morning and closes at 10:00 AM.   Rack sections will be marked to correspond to wave assignment.  When racking your bikes, please try to use the seat to hang on the racks. This will take up less room so we can try to fit everyone in. Don't take up too much real estate, try to alternate both sides of the racks.   Please try to get 8 bikes per rack.  Wrist bands and bike numbers will be given to all registered athletes at packet pickup. You must wear this at all times, it is your entry to the transition area. Athletes only in transition area, please.  In addition, there is security at transition exits to ensure bike security.  Transition area will be broken down starting at 10:00 AM so please make sure you pack up and remove your equipment before then.

Race Start Times

6:50 AM -- 39 and under males followed by all females and then 40 and over male with AquaVelo and Relay participants.   Duathlon will start on boardwalk at the same time as the last wave.  Each wave will be approximately 3 minutes apart.

Parking

Best bet is street parking (metered spots, please make note of your spot number and feed the meters at the pay stations).  Paid parking along the waterfront is now being enforced from 9AM

to 9PM every day. The rate for all numbered spaces on Ocean Avenue is $1.00 per hour with a maximum limit of 3 hours.  The rate for all other numbered spaces is $.50 per hour without any time limits. The meter machines take cash (no change given) or debit cards, MasterCard, Visa or Discover Card only! After you have paid at the meter machines, please keep your receipt (no need to take back to your car). You may use ANY meter to buy or add time.

Remember - ROADS ARE NOT CLOSED TO TRAFFIC! Be cautious at all intersections, we have police officers on the course to assist in safety, but you are responsible for watching out for crazy drivers (as usual) People can cross the course and cut you off at any race, not just this one. Be Safe!!!

It is always the responsibility as an athlete to be familiar with the course

Run

There will be a water table at the run exit and at approximately each mile on the run course.  Please stay to the right.

Please follow signs and cones delineated to channel athletes and keep spectators of course. Please be courteous to all spectator and walkers, they also belong there and are enjoying the weather and some exercise just as you are.  Share the boardwalk.

A Few Notes

Please remember to thank the volunteers.

Please do not drop gel packs or other items on the course. Some races disqualify people for doing that.  Please remove ALL items from transition when you leave.
